Description:
Revered for over a thousand years and famously known in ancient times as the “tea so fragrant it frightens people” (吓煞人香), Biluochun is one of China’s most celebrated spring teas. Our offering comes from the Dong Shan (East Mountain) region of Dongting in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, the birthplace of the original and most prized Biluochun.

This is not just any green tea—it’s the authentic Dongting Dong Shan Biluochun, grown on the eastern slopes of the Dongting mountain range that stretches into the Taihu Lake Peninsula. This region’s misty hills, fertile soil, and proximity to Lake Tai create the ideal microclimate for producing intensely aromatic, delicate teas.

Why It’s Special:
True Origin: Harvested from Dong Shan, considered the top terroir for Biluochun due to its history and ideal growing conditions.
Early Spring Harvest: Picked in the earliest days of spring when the buds are most tender and full of fresh vitality.
Legendary Aroma: The name "Biluochun" (literally “Green Snail Spring”) refers to the tightly rolled shape and early spring harvest. It’s known for its sweet floral aroma, juicy umami, and long, lingering freshness.
Extremely Rare: It takes 60,000–80,000 tiny leaf buds to produce just one pound of finished tea. Harvesting, sorting, and pan-frying are all done by hand with precision and care.
