includes award-winning Temomi tea souvenir
Experience the pinnacle of Japanese tea craftsmanship in this exclusive Temomi Masterclass led by Tea Master Yoshiaki Hiruma (比留間嘉章) — visiting Toronto for a short stay as part of the Japanese Tea Festival.
Temomi (手揉み) means “hand-rolling.” It is a time-honoured, artisanal technique in which every tea leaf is delicately shaped by hand, using all five senses in harmony. This intricate process produces teas celebrated for their mild aroma, deep umami, and elegant finish.
In this intimate 10-person session, Hiruma-sensei — crowned Japan’s #1 Hand-Rolled Tea Master — will share his mastery of the Temomi craft, offering rare insight into how hand-rolled tea is created and brewed to perfection.
He will present his award-winning Temomi tea, “Yae no Kanade” (八重奏), recognized as the best hand-rolled tea in Japan, and each participant will receive this extraordinary tea to take home as a souvenir.
This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from Japan’s foremost tea artisan — not to be missed.
